Privacy Policy

My Spot (“we”, “us”) operates the My Spot mobile app and the website at my-spot.ca, which let players in British Columbia book courts, join drop-in sessions, and connect with other players. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to run the service — we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

Information we collect

  • Account & profile. Your name, email address, profile photo, and any bio or profile details you add. You can sign in with email, Apple, or Google.
  • Bookings & purchases. The courts and sessions you book, your booking history, credits, and related receipts.
  • Payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Your full card details are entered into Stripe and are never stored on our servers; we retain only limited information such as the card brand and last four digits for your receipts.
  • Approximate location. With your permission, we use your approximate (coarse) location to show nearby players and estimate distance. Your precise location is not shared with other users. You can decline or revoke this permission in your device settings at any time.
  • Content you create. Posts in group feeds, messages to other members, and photos you upload.
  • Usage & identifiers. A user account identifier and basic product-interaction analytics (for example, which features you use) so we can keep the app working and improve it.

Apple Health

If you turn on workout syncing, My Spot writes your completed play sessions to Apple Health as workouts. This data stays on your device within Apple Health and is not transmitted to or stored by us.

How we use your information

  • Create and manage your account, and authenticate sign-in.
  • Take bookings, process payments, and send confirmations and reminders.
  • Power community features — finding nearby players, groups, and drop-ins.
  • Send you notifications you’ve enabled (email and push).
  • Keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
  • Understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising and do not track you across other apps or websites.

Service providers we share data with

We share information only with providers that help us operate the service:

  • Supabase— secure hosting of our database and backend.
  • Stripe— payment processing.
  • Resend— transactional email (confirmations, receipts).
  • Expo / Apple / Google— push notifications and sign-in.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

Community safety

You can block and report other users from their profile. Reports are reviewed so we can keep My Spot a safe, respectful community, and we may remove content or accounts that violate our terms.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete account), which removes or anonymizes your personal information, subject to records we’re legally required to keep (for example, transaction records).

Your choices

  • Access or update your profile in the app at any time.
  • Control location and notification permissions in your device settings.
  • Delete your account from the app’s settings.
  • Contact us to exercise privacy rights available in your region.

Children

My Spot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
